Cities of the first or second class must provide the state fire marshal with a list of residential buildings lacking automatic sprinkler systems by June 20, 2022, with updated lists due June 30, 2025, and June 30, 2030.

Buildings must meet three criteria: at least one story 75 feet or more above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access, no sprinkler system requirement at time of construction, and no sprinkler system retrofit.

The state fire marshal must submit the compiled lists to legislative committee chairs and ranking minority members with jurisdiction over the State Building Code and State Fire Code within 60 days of each deadline.
