S.F. No. 59 Summary

• Allocates $110,000,000 in bond proceeds from the trunk highway fund for environmental analysis, predesign, design, engineering, and construction of rail safety projects at trunk highway-railroad grade crossings based on the Department of Transportation's crude by rail grade crossing study (December 2014, revised 2019).

• Allocates $23,000,000 in bond proceeds from the trunk highway fund for environmental analysis, predesign, design, engineering, and reconstruction of trunk highways experiencing frequent flooding in Sibley County and Le Sueur County.

• Flood mitigation funds are intended to modify roadway elevation and reduce closures due to river flooding for eligible trunk highway bond projects.

• Both sections become effective the day following final enactment.
