Cities of the first or second class must provide the state fire marshal with lists of residential buildings that lack automatic sprinkler systems by June 20, 2022, with updates due June 30, 2025, and June 30, 2030.

Listed buildings must have at least one story used for human occupancy that is 75 feet or more above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access.

Buildings must not have been subject to sprinkler system requirements at the time of construction and must not have been retrofitted with a sprinkler system.

The state fire marshal must submit the compiled lists to chairs and ranking minority members of legislative committees with jurisdiction over the State Building Code and State Fire Code within 60 days of the reporting deadline.
