School districts and charter schools that issue identification cards to grades 6-12 students must include contact information for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (988), Crisis Text Line, and county Mobile Crisis Services on the cards.

The same suicide prevention contact information must be included in school student handbooks and custom-printed student planners distributed to grades 6-12 students.

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees must provide the suicide prevention contact information on student identification cards and in institution student handbooks.

The University of Minnesota is requested (but not required) to provide the suicide prevention contact information on student identification cards and in its student handbook.
