Health plans must cover acupuncture services for treating pain and ongoing pain management when performed by an authorized acupuncture practitioner

Coverage must include at least 30 visits for acupuncture services before health plan companies can require prior authorization for additional services

Effective January 1, 2024, for health plans offered, issued, or renewed to Minnesota residents on or after that date

Adds new section 62Q.523 to Minnesota Statutes relating to health plan coverage requirements
