Amends Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 197.63, subdivision 1, to authorize county veteran service officers to receive certified vital records without a fee.

Expands the list of individuals eligible to receive free certified copies of birth, death, marriage, divorce, and dissolution of marriage records to include county veteran service officers appointed pursuant to section 197.60.

Permits county veteran service officers, along with existing eligible parties, to obtain vital records for use in presenting claims to the United States Veterans Administration or in connection with veterans organizations or the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Applies to veterans defined in section 197.447 who are citizens of the United States or resident aliens, as well as surviving spouses and next of kin of veterans.
