• Excludes health carrier agreements except those limited to disability, income protection, or long-term care policies; dental-only coverage from nonprofit health service plans; and certain written agreements authorized under specified statutes.

• Defines "insured" as a person or entity qualifying under an insurance policy's terms, expressly excluding third-party beneficiaries.

• Becomes effective the day following final enactment and applies to claims made or commenced on or after that date.
