Commissioner of health shall design and make publicly available statewide public information materials promoting early detection of cognitive impairment, benefits of cognitive testing, early warning signs, and awareness of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias by June 30, 2024.

Program materials must include culturally specific messages developed in consultation with leaders of rural populations, Native and Indigenous communities, and communities of color who have experience with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

Commissioner shall implement an initial statewide public information campaign using developed materials by July 1, 2025, which may include television and radio public service announcements, social media, digital advertising, print materials, and a community digital public forum.

Commissioner may contract with third parties experienced in promoting Alzheimer's awareness to implement the campaign, with contracts awarded through a competitive process.

$500,000 is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2024 for developing program materials and implementing the campaign, available until June 30, 2026, with a report due by June 30, 2026 to legislative committees on development and implementation.
