• Exempts facilities experiencing a change of licensee from meeting design requirements in sections 144G.45 and 144G.81.

• Allows assisted living facilities with ten or fewer residents to share a certified food protection manager, designate a two-compartment sink for handwashing instead of installing a dedicated sink, and permits textured ceilings if clean and in good repair.

• Permits initial nursing assessments for prospective residents to be conducted via telecommunication methods when geographic distance or urgent circumstances exist, and allows focused assessments by licensed nurses (not just registered nurses) for routine 90-day reassessments.

• Allows staff members to transfer between affiliated assisted living facilities without repeating orientation training if the facilities share the same licensee, corporate organization, or management entity.

• Changes terminology in abuse prevention plans from "vulnerable adults" to "residents" and exempts facilities from minimum design standards when licensing an existing building that complies with fire safety, building, and zoning codes.
