Amends Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 150A.06, subdivision 8, to modify licensure by credentials requirements for dental assistants.

Changes requirement to allow dental assistants with graduation from an accredited dental assisting program OR current certification by the Dental Assisting National Board (previously required both).

Dental assistants may apply for licensure based on evaluation of education, experience, and performance record as an alternative to completing a board-approved dental assisting program for expanded functions.

Applicants must meet five conditions: proper accreditation or certification, no disciplinary action in other jurisdictions, good moral character, English proficiency test if needed, and expanded functions curriculum equivalency.

Board retains discretion to waive specific licensure requirements and may deny applications if applicants do not demonstrate minimum knowledge in dental subjects; denied applicants may appeal or reapply under alternative pathways.
