Establishes requirements for central service technicians who decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize reusable medical instruments in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.

Requires central service technicians to either pass a nationally accredited exam and maintain credentials or provide evidence of employment in the field by December 31, 2023.

Central service technicians hired after the deadline must obtain certified registered central service technician or certified sterile processing and distribution technician credentials within 18 months of hire.

Mandates 10 hours of annual continuing education credits for all qualified central service technicians related to their job functions.

Exempts licensed health care practitioners, credentialed health service workers, and students or interns under direct supervision from these requirements; effective 180 days after enactment.
