• Appropriates $265,000 from the general fund to the Department of Education for fiscal year 2024 to fund suicide prevention training grants.

• Grant funds must support a nationally recognized provider of evidence-based online training on suicide prevention and engagement of students experiencing mental distress.

• Training must be available free of charge and accessible to teachers in all school districts, charter schools, intermediate school districts, service cooperatives, and Tribal schools in Minnesota.

• Grant recipient must report to the commissioner of health the number of teachers completing training, average completion time, and average usage duration; commissioner must survey users on their perceptions and report findings by January 8, 2025.

• Appropriation is one-time only and available until June 30, 2025.
