Minnesota Board on Aging must create a Native American elders coordinator position to coordinate efforts with the National Indian Council on Aging and develop a comprehensive statewide Tribal-based service system.

Defines "Native American elder" as an individual enrolled in a federally recognized Tribe and identified as an elder according to their home Tribe's requirements.

Statewide Tribal-based service system may include planning systems for federal and state funding, business initiatives, service focal points, cultural sensitivity training, health care coordination, data collection on Native American elder needs, and coordination with existing organizations.

Changes language throughout statute from "Indian" to "Native American" to reflect more current terminology.

Appropriates $300,000 in fiscal year 2024 and $300,000 in fiscal year 2025 from the general fund to the commissioner of human services for the coordinator position.
