Amends Minnesota Statutes section 609.1056 to require courts to prepare a deferred sentence report when imposing a deferred sentence on a defendant, including defendant name, case number, charges, probation length, conditions, and sentencing worksheet.

Requires courts to prepare a violation report if a defendant violates probation conditions and receives an adjudication of guilt, documenting whether the violation was technical or involved a subsequent criminal act.

Mandates that deferred sentence reports, violation reports, and discharge/dismissal records be forwarded to the Sentencing Guidelines Commission for compilation.

Requires the Sentencing Guidelines Commission to submit an annual report by January 15 to legislative committees with jurisdiction over public safety and veterans affairs, containing summary data disaggregated by county on deferred sentences, adjudications of guilt, technical violations, subsequent criminal acts, and dismissed proceedings.

Effective August 1, 2024, and applies to deferred sentences announced on or after that date.
