Medical assistance must cover cost-sharing for commercial insurer-approved prescription drugs regardless of preferred drug list status, without prior approval when an enrollee has a deductible for prescription drug coverage.

Authorization is not required for cost-effective prescription drug coverage when the drug is approved by a commercial insurer and the enrollee is subject to a deductible for prescription drug coverage.

Both sections become effective January 1, 2025.
