Expands the definition of "semiautomatic military-style assault weapon" to include 17 specific firearm models (AK-47, AR-15, Uzi, etc.) and any firearm with similar action design, plus firearms with certain features like pistol grips, folding stocks, or detachable magazines.

Defines "large-capacity magazine" as any ammunition feeding device with capacity exceeding 10 rounds, with exceptions for permanently altered devices, .22 caliber tube devices, and lever-action rifle tubular magazines.

Defines ".50 caliber or larger firearm" as any firearm capable of expelling a metal projectile measuring one-half inch or larger in diameter, excluding antique or replica black powder firearms.

Bans manufacture, import, transfer, ownership, or possession of large-capacity magazines, .50 caliber or larger firearms, semiautomatic military-style assault weapons, and undetectable firearms, with exceptions for government officers, armed forces members, and licensed manufacturers/dealers selling to law enforcement or armed forces.

Requires persons who legally owned these items before January 1, 2024 to register them with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension by January 1, 2025, with registered items subject to safe storage requirements, three-year renewal, and restrictions on transfer and additional purchases; violators face felony charges with up to five years imprisonment or $25,000 fine; effective date August 1, 2024.
