Appropriates $3,350,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2025 to the commissioner of natural resources for a grant to the city of Carver for levee restoration capital improvements.

Levee restoration project must meet Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) certification requirements and includes predesign, design, engineering, land acquisition, and construction activities.

Project scope includes raising the height of the Carver levee, constructing internal drainage, establishing maintainable setbacks to adjacent structures, and obtaining FEMA certification to protect a historic district from Minnesota River floodwaters.

Appropriation is in addition to a previous appropriation in Laws 2023, chapter 72, article 1, section 7, subdivision 8, and is one-time funding available until project completion or abandonment.

Effective the day following final enactment.
