• $1,500,000 appropriated from the general fund in fiscal year 2025 to the commissioner of agriculture for a microplastics study
• Study must examine the presence of microplastics in meat and poultry sold or offered for sale in Minnesota, conducted in consultation with the commissioner of health and University of Minnesota
• Commissioner of agriculture may contract with private laboratories or other entities to perform the study
• Commissioner must report findings and recommendations to legislative committees with jurisdiction over agriculture and health no later than February 1, 2025
