Expands immunity from prosecution for individuals who seek medical assistance for another person experiencing a drug-related overdose or assist someone seeking such assistance.

Eliminates prosecution for possession, sharing, or use of controlled substances under Minnesota Statutes sections 152.023, 152.024, 152.025, and possession of drug paraphernalia when evidence results from seeking medical assistance for an overdose.

Requires qualifying individuals to be the first person to seek assistance, provide name and contact information, remain at the scene until assistance arrives, and cooperate with authorities.

Excludes good faith protection when seeking medical assistance during execution of an arrest warrant, search warrant, or lawful search.

Effective August 1, 2024, and applies to acts committed on or after that date.
