Allows the commissioner of health to approve nursing assistants for the registry without requiring a competency evaluation if they are in good standing on a nursing assistant registry in another state.

Requires the commissioner of health to ensure written portions of the nursing assistant competency evaluation are available in languages other than English that are commonly spoken by applicants.

Permits the commissioner to consult with the state demographer or commissioner of employment and economic development when identifying commonly spoken languages for the competency evaluation.

Allows foreign nursing school graduates who completed an approved competency evaluation to administer medications in nursing facilities after completing any medication training program approved by the commissioner of health that meets specified requirements.

Both sections become effective January 1, 2025.
