• Requires school districts and charter schools to develop written cardiac emergency response plans beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, addressing sudden cardiac arrest response procedures for school grounds and school-sponsored activities.

• Mandates cardiac emergency response plans include identification of response team members, guidelines for team response, automatic external defibrillator locations and maintenance schedules, cardiopulmonary resuscitation training requirements, and annual emergency simulations at least 30 days before school year begins.

• Requires at least one cardiac emergency response drill annually for public and private schools, in addition to existing lock-down, fire, and tornado drills.
