Amends Minnesota Statutes section 121A.61, subdivision 3, to modify student discipline policy requirements for school districts.

Requires that students removed from class for assault or violent behavior must participate in targeted social and emotional learning opportunities upon return, and must participate in a restorative process if the affected teacher requests it.

Prohibits school districts from using exclusionary discipline practices for early learners and from using exclusionary practices to address attendance and truancy issues.

Maintains the existing five-class-period maximum removal period for conduct violations and requires removal periods to include opportunity for students to meet with a licensed school counselor, psychologist, or social worker.

Effective for the 2024-2025 school year and later.
