Replaces the exemption process for American Indian mascots in public schools that previously required approval from all 11 federally recognized Tribal Nations in Minnesota and the Tribal Nations Education Committee by December 15, 2023.

Public schools are now exempt from the American Indian mascot prohibition if an American Indian Tribe located in the same county does not object to the use of the mascot.

Public schools are automatically exempt from the prohibition if no American Indian Tribe exists in the same county as the school.

Amends Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 121A.041, subdivision 3.
