School districts must make voter registration applications available to eligible students in May and September each year, and 15 days before the state general election deadline in election years.

School districts must advise students that completing a voter registration application is not a school district requirement.

School districts are not required to provide voter registration applications to students in postsecondary education option programs or those not attending district schools.

The secretary of state must report to legislative committees with election jurisdiction by February 1 each year on implementation information and highlight best practices for student voter registration.
