Requires school districts and charter schools to provide mental health instruction to students in grades 4 through 12 starting in the 2026-2027 school year.

Mental health instruction must align with local health standards and be integrated into existing programs, curriculum, or the general school environment.

Commissioner of Education must provide districts and charter schools with resources including age-appropriate model learning activities aligned with National Health Education Standards and best practices.

Commissioner must provide a directory of resources for implementing age-appropriate mental health curriculum, including suicide and self-harm prevention resources, by July 1, 2020, and July 1 of each even-numbered year thereafter.

Districts and charter schools providing suicide or self-harm prevention instruction must use either the commissioner-provided resources or other evidence-based instruction.
