Commissioner of the Pollution Control Agency must submit an annual report by February 1, 2025, and every year thereafter detailing state agency deicing salt purchases and reduction strategies to legislative committees with environment and natural resources jurisdiction.

Report covers deicing salt purchases by all state agencies except the Department of Transportation, which is excluded from the requirement.

"Deicing salt" is defined as salt in solid form used to melt snow and ice, excluding salt used on roads managed by the Department of Transportation.

State agencies must reduce deicing salt purchases by 25 percent by January 1, 2030, compared to the baseline level established in the first report submitted in February 2025.
