State must pay districts $98 for each child screened at age three, $65 at age four, $52 at age five or six prior to kindergarten, and $39 for students screened within 30 days of kindergarten enrollment.

Districts may permanently transfer funds from their general fund to supplement insufficient state aid for developmental screening.

State aid is not paid for students screened more than 30 days after first day of kindergarten attendance, with an exception for students who transfer to another public school kindergarten within 30 days.

Students who transfer kindergartens within 30 days of initial enrollment may be screened and receive state aid if screening occurs within 30 days of the transfer date.

Effective date is July 1, 2024.
