School districts are encouraged to commemorate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month each May.

Districts may provide instruction or conduct school programs to help students learn about diverse cultures and traditions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

Districts may highlight the achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to American history and culture.

Districts may partner with community groups to promote and encourage observance of the month.

Adds new law to Minnesota Statutes, chapter 120A, as Section 120A.43.
