Health plans must cover evidence-based cancer imaging for enrollees with increased cancer risk as determined by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).

Health plans must cover clinical genetic testing for inherited gene mutations recommended by a health care provider for enrollees with a personal or family history of cancer.

Coverage for both imaging and genetic testing is not subject to cost-sharing, including deductibles, co-payments, or coinsurance.

If no-cost coverage would result in health savings account ineligibility or catastrophic health plan ineligibility under federal law, coverage applies only after the enrollee meets their deductible.

The law is effective January 1, 2025, and applies to health plans offered, issued, or renewed on or after that date.
