Allows individual taxpayers a credit against Minnesota income tax for costs of removing trees infested by emerald ash borer that are required by state law or municipal ordinance to be treated or removed.

Credit equals 50 percent of the removal cost paid for each tree, with a maximum total credit of $1,000 per taxpayer.

Credit cannot exceed the taxpayer's total income tax liability for the year.

For nonresident or part-year residents, the credit must be allocated using the percentage calculated in Minnesota Statutes section 290.06, subdivision 2c, paragraph (e).

Effective for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2023.
