Appropriates $50,000,000 in fiscal year 2025 from the general fund to the Department of Human Services for compliance grants to family child care providers as a one-time appropriation available until expended.

Grants must be used for costs associated with meeting licensing requirements including facility improvements, licensing fees, and training requirements.

Maximum grant of $15,000 per family child care provider, with at least 50 percent of grant money directed to providers located outside the seven-county metropolitan area.

Commissioner must give priority to family child care providers in communities with a shortage of licensed child care providers.

Repeals Laws 2023, chapter 55, article 10, section 4, which previously appropriated $50,000,000 for a voluntary prekindergarten reserve.
