Amends Minnesota Statutes 2023 Supplement, section 124D.111, subdivision 3 to authorize lunchroom furniture costs to be charged to the school food service fund under certain conditions.

Defines "lunchroom furniture" as tables and chairs regularly used by pupils in a lunchroom to consume milk, meals, or snacks in connection with school or community service activities.

Allows districts with three successive years of surplus in the food service fund to recode lunchroom furniture costs (along with supervision, custodial services, and utilities) from the general fund to the food service fund, not to exceed the surplus amount.

Maintains existing requirements that lunchroom furniture costs must normally be charged to the general fund, except when a district has sufficient food service fund surplus.

Takes effect for fiscal year 2024 and later.
