Commissioner of human services must conduct an annual review of all medications, treatments, and services for sickle cell disease covered under the medical assistance program.

Annual review must determine if currently covered medications, treatments, and services adequately meet the needs of medical assistance enrollees with sickle cell disease and whether additional options should be added.

Commissioner must solicit and consider input from the general public, with specific emphasis on persons or groups with knowledge and experience in sickle cell disease treatment.

Commissioner must submit annual reports to legislative committees with jurisdiction over medical assistance policy and finance by January 15, 2025, and January 15 each year thereafter, detailing findings and recommendations.

Annual reports must be published on the Department of Human Services website in a manner accessible to the general public, and the reporting requirement does not expire.
