Allows high school students and homeschooled students age 16 and older to be appointed as trainee election judges without party affiliation in their home county or an adjacent county.

Permits trainee election judges to continue serving after graduating high school until they reach age 18.

Students may be excused from school attendance during hours of service as trainee election judges with written parental approval and advance notice to the school principal at least ten days before the election.

Trainee election judges may not serve after 10:00 p.m. and may be paid not less than two-thirds of the minimum wage for a large employer.

School principals may condition approval of student absences on acceptable academic performance at the time of service as a trainee election judge.
