Exempts covered farm vehicles from motor vehicle inspection requirements if they are not carrying hazardous materials requiring federal placard markings under Code of Federal Regulations, title 49, section 172.504.

Exempts farm work trucks operated in intrastate commerce that transport anhydrous ammonia to or from a farm for on-farm use, provided they do not carry other placardable hazardous materials.

Defines "farm work truck" as a farm truck or full-size pickup truck meeting farm truck requirements and registered under specific farm truck registration provisions, excluding trailers and semitrailers.

Requires drivers of exempted farm vehicles to determine the vehicle is in safe operating condition before operating it.

Amends Minnesota Statutes sections 169.781, subdivision 10, and 169.782, subdivision 4.
