Permits qualified professionals to conduct supervision of personal care assistance services via two-way interactive audio and visual telecommunications for recipients with chronic health conditions or severely compromised immune systems, if requested by the recipient and approved by their primary health care provider.

Requires the recipient's primary health care provider to determine that remote supervision is appropriate and document this determination in a statement of need or other document included in the recipient's personal care assistance care plan.

Allows care plans developed or amended through remote supervision to be executed by electronic signature.

Prohibits personal care assistance provider agencies from conducting their first supervisory visit or completing the initial care plan via remote visit; subsequent visits may be remote.

Effective July 1, 2023, or upon federal approval, whichever is later, with the commissioner of human services required to notify the revisor of statutes when federal approval is obtained.
