Commissioner of human services shall award general operating grants to public and private nonprofit organizations and counties to provide and promote supported decision making.

At least 75 percent of grant funding must support organizations providing supported-decision-making services, no more than 20 percent for county or Tribal programs, and no more than 5 percent for programs promoting supported decision making.

Grants must be distributed to promote racial and geographic diversity in populations receiving services.

Commissioner must report on grant impacts and outcomes by June 30, 2024, and every two years thereafter, detailing how funding achieved subdivision requirements.

$7,500,000 appropriated for each of fiscal years 2023, 2024, and 2025 from the general fund for supported-decision-making programs, with unexpended fiscal year 2023 amounts available until June 30, 2024.

Commissioner must report by December 15, 2023, on how medical assistance providers could be reimbursed for supported decision-making services, including provider requirements and strategies to promote equitable access for People of Color and underserved communities.
