First four dealer plates cost $75 per registration year ($60 to registrar, $15 sales tax); additional plates cost $25 plus $15 sales tax annually.

Licensed motor vehicle dealers seeking duplicate or replacement plates for vehicles held for resale must apply for a certificate of title with the department.

Used motor vehicles with current Minnesota registration and duplicate/replacement plates cannot be driven by dealers or employees for private purposes unless the dealer holds a certificate of title naming them as owner.

Vehicles sold by dealers with dealer plates may be driven 72 hours by buyers for removing the vehicle from state or using it before receiving registration plates.

All sections become effective the day following final enactment.
