Health plan companies are prohibited from requiring co-payments for mental health services received by children under age 18.

High-deductible health plans paired with health savings accounts must charge only the minimum co-payment necessary to preserve enrollees' ability to make tax-exempt contributions and withdrawals under Internal Revenue Code section 223.

The law becomes effective January 1, 2025, and applies to health plans offered, issued, or renewed on or after that date.
