Commissioner must issue colorectal cancer awareness special license plates or motorcycle plates to owners of passenger automobiles, noncommercial one-ton pickup trucks, motorcycles, or recreational motor vehicles who meet specified requirements.

Applicants must pay the standard special plate fee, registration tax, and contribute a minimum of $30 annually to the Minnesota colorectal cancer awareness account.

Plate design must include the phrase "Colorectal Cancer Awareness" and emphasize early detection and screening, developed in consultation with the Colon Cancer Coalition.

Special plates may be transferred to another vehicle for a $5 fee if the new vehicle is qualified and registered to the same individual.

Annual contributions are deposited in a special revenue fund account with money appropriated to the commissioner of public safety for administration costs and distribution to the Colon Cancer Coalition by August 15 each year.

Effective date is January 1, 2025.
