Establishes a new felony offense for making a fictitious emergency report with intent to prompt an emergency response to the home of protected individuals, punishable by up to one year imprisonment or a fine of up to $5,000, or both.

Protected individuals under this offense include elected officials, judges, prosecuting attorneys, correctional facility employees, and peace officers.

Expands the definition of "call" to include any method of communication including telephones, facsimiles, Voice over Internet Protocols, email messages, text messages, and electronic transmissions of images or videos.

Clarifies that for purposes of this offense, an "emergency call" does not require the existence of an actual emergency.

Effective August 1, 2024, and applies to crimes committed on or after that date.
