Modifies the definition of "employee" under Minnesota Statutes section 181.9445, subdivision 5 to include temporary and part-time employees who perform at least 80 hours of work per year in Minnesota for an employer.

Excludes independent contractors from the definition of employee.

Exempts airline flight deck and cabin crew members from employee classification if they are subject to federal labor law (United States Code, title 45, sections 181 to 188), work less than a majority of hours in Minnesota in a calendar year, and receive paid leave equal to or exceeding amounts specified in section 181.9446.

Takes effect the day following final enactment.
