Authorizes the Commissioner of Public Safety to issue special license plates to firefighters who are certified emergency medical technicians, advanced emergency medical technicians, or paramedics.

Applicants must be certified by the Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board, be a member of a fire department, own a passenger automobile, one-ton pickup truck, or motorcycle, and provide letters from the board and fire chief affirming their qualifications.

Plates may only be used while the owner remains both a member of a fire department and a certified emergency medical technician or higher; plates must be removed or invalidated if either qualification is lost or vehicle ownership is transferred.

Special plate emblems must be distinguishable from existing firefighter and volunteer ambulance attendant special plates; plates may be transferred to another qualifying vehicle for a $5 transfer fee.

All fees collected must be credited to the driver and vehicle services operating account; the commissioner may adopt rules to govern issuance and use of the plates.
