Expands immunity protections to include individuals who act in concert with a person seeking medical assistance for another experiencing a drug-related overdose, in addition to those directly seeking assistance.

Protects from prosecution for possession, sharing, or use of controlled substances under Minnesota Statutes sections 152.023, 152.024, and 152.025, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

Requires the person qualifying for immunity to be the first to seek assistance, provide name and contact information, remain on scene until help arrives, and cooperate with authorities.

Excludes good faith protections if medical assistance is sought during execution of an arrest warrant, search warrant, or lawful search.

Effective August 1, 2024, and applies to acts committed on or after that date.
