Large employers must pay a minimum wage of $15.00 per hour beginning August 1, 2024, increasing to $16.25 (2025), $17.50 (2026), $18.75 (2027), and $20.00 (2028).

Employees under age 20 during their first 90 days of employment must be paid at least $13.00 per hour beginning August 1, 2024, increasing annually to $18.00 by August 1, 2028.

Starting in 2029, the commissioner shall annually adjust minimum wage rates by the lesser of 2.5 percent or the percentage increase in inflation (measured by personal consumption expenditures), with rates never decreasing.

The commissioner may issue an order by September 30 of each year to delay the inflation-based increase if economic indicators suggest a substantial downturn, subject to public hearing requirements and consideration of state median income changes.

The commissioner may make supplemental wage increases in subsequent years to recover delayed increases from prior years, not subject to the 2.5 percent annual cap.
