Districts must give highest priority to applications for school-age care programs from children placed in foster care.

Districts may waive or charge a sliding fee for children who have been placed in foster care participating in school-age care programs.

School-age care revenue eligibility expands to include additional costs of providing services to children with disabilities, children placed in foster care, or children experiencing temporary family or related problems.

School-age care revenue is calculated based on approved additional costs of serving eligible children and may be obtained through district levy or state aid.

Appropriates $1,000 for school-age care aid in fiscal year 2024 and an unspecified amount for fiscal year 2025.
