MN SF4400

Prohibits public and private institutions of higher education in Minnesota from providing preferential treatment in admissions decisions based on an applicant's legacy status.

Defines "legacy status" as the familial relationship of an applicant to an alumnus of the institution.

Prohibits preferential treatment based on an applicant's familial relationship to any donor to the institution.

Requests that the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota comply with the prohibition.

Creates new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 135A, section 135A.195.
