Commissioner of Transportation must establish a grant program awarding 5-10 counties funds for pilot projects improving dynamic transportation options by December 1, 2024.

Eligible pilot projects include integrating transportation systems, establishing ridesharing networks, subsidizing private transportation companies, using volunteer drivers, and expanding dial-a-ride services.

Metropolitan counties, as defined in Minnesota Statutes section 473.121, subdivision 4, are ineligible for grants.

Commissioner must submit a report to legislative transportation committees by February 1, 2025 describing the selection process and awarded projects; grant recipients must report results by December 31, 2025, with a compiled report due February 1, 2026.

$5,000,000 from the general fund is appropriated to the commissioner of transportation in fiscal year 2025 as a one-time appropriation for the grant program.
