Replaces the physical plant safety consultant and private security consultant positions with a single member who has expertise in security related to infrastructure and operational logistics of correctional facilities, not required to reside in Minnesota, appointed by the governor.

Adds the commissioner of administration or a designee as a group member.

Changes reporting requirement from a fixed February 15, 2022 deadline to "whenever the standards are updated."

Modifies meeting frequency language from "shall meet twice a year" to clarify the group must meet twice a year to review facility audit reports.

Specifies the group does not expire and is not subject to chapter 13D of Minnesota Statutes.
