Commissioner of natural resources must convey all state-owned land and real property within one mile of the Upper Red Lake lakeshore to the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians at no cost.

Commissioner must also convey all state-owned land and real property within the boundaries of the Red Lake State Forest to the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians at no cost.

Commissioner must identify any funding restrictions or legal barriers to the conveyances and submit a report by January 15, 2025 to legislative committees with jurisdiction over environment and natural resources, including recommendations to address those barriers.

$20,000,000 is appropriated to the commissioner of natural resources in fiscal year 2025 for conveying the land, with funds available until June 30, 2034.

Appropriated money may be used to acquire any land necessary to facilitate the required conveyance.
